Manitoba joined confederation on July 15, 1870. In the language of the Cree, Manitoba means “where the spirit lives” despite inhabiting just over one million people much of the province is still mostly in the hands of nature.

 

Known for its great polar bear watching, Churchill is rightfully called “ he Polar Bear Capitol of the World" however Manitoba is also known as the land of a 100 000 lakes; enjoying over 2000 hours of sun a year generations of Manitobans have taken advantage of this unique combination at their weekend cottages with family and friends.
